Begin your day at the legendary Giza Pyramids Complex, the monumental legacy of Egypt’s 4th Dynasty. The enormous pyramid of Khufu stands as a testament to ancient engineering brilliance—more than 2.3 million blocks, each weighing an average of 2.5 tons. This site served as the royal necropolis for the pharaohs, symbolizing divine power and the eternal journey.
Next door, the majestic Great Sphinx—a lion-bodied figure with the human face of King Khafre—guards the plateau. Believed to have been carved around 2,500 BCE, it remains one of the world’s most enigmatic sculptures.
Adjacent to the Sphinx lies the ancient Valley Temple, built of enormous granite blocks and once used for the purification rituals of the dead pharaoh. Its design and craftsmanship anticipated the later pyramidal masterpieces.
Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, Egypt’s newest and largest archaeological museum. The museum houses more than 100,000 artifacts from different periods of Egyptian history.
Key exhibitions include:
- The full collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures, displayed together for the first time.
- Royal statues, tools, jewelry, pottery, and everyday items that illustrate life in ancient Egypt.
- The Grand Hall, featuring the impressive statue of Ramses II, offers a striking introduction to Egypt’s pharaonic heritage.
Your Egyptologist guide will walk you through major galleries, providing context and historical background to help you understand each period and dynasty.
Enjoy your lunch at a selected local restaurant during the tour.
